WILMINGTON RENAISSANCE CORPORATION
The streets will be closed to traffic and open to fun with street performers, bobbing for apples, pumpking carving, costume contests for kids and animals, an antique fire truck display by the Delaware Historical Society and a Haunted Opera House at The Grand Opera House.
An awards party to honor unsung champions of Wilmington!
The State of the Downtown is a yearly event to share WRC's accomplishments from the past year and the organization's path forward.
The week-long celebration of eating and quality dining in 11 downtown and riverfront restaurants will include two-course lunches for $15 and three-course dinners for $35.
In only its second year, the Wilmington Grand Prix sponsored by Bank of America is recognized on the National Race Calendar by USA Cycling. Now a point race for the pros, the downtown cycling event is sure to draw even higher caliber cyclists and even more spectators!
Teams of eight corporate employees with no rowing experience are trained by Wilmington Youth Rowing Association (WYRA) coaches for about four weeks leading up to the races. The races are great team-building experiences, give the winners bragging rights and a trophy for a year, and include a spectator party on the riverfront with music, food and more.
The streets will be transformed into a unique art venue, storefronts will become galleries and food and drink will round out the evening.
Each themed event will feature live music, food and beverages at the Plaza at City Center (on Tatnall Street between 10th and 11th Streets) from 5 to 9 p.m.
Corporate crew teams take it back to the Christina River on Aug. 20!
