Who We Are

Zoning in on small business

The Downtown Business Information Zone (DBIZ) is an initiative of Wilmington Renaissance Corporation. DBIZ was created to serve as a resource and development tool for small businesses to gather start-up information and develop an organized plan and process that will lead to the opening of a successful business in the downtown Wilmington area.

Purpose and Vision

The purpose of this center is to help small businesses understand and follow the necessary procedures before successfully opening a business. Our goal is to help new small businesses, as well as existing small businesses, sustain their success in downtown Wilmington. Ultimately, DBIZ is a referral service that will aid small business owners in gaining important knowledge.

From business plan writing to lending to finding a location to marketing your business, DBIZ will help point you in the right direction, ensuring that the business owners have completed the necessary steps and are on the right path.

Check out the downloadable forms to the right that include a new business checklist, DBIZ phases and a form for prospective new business or existing businiess owners to complete for assistance from DBIZ.

The forms can be returned to Shari Williams via fax or e-mail.
